i have a 7-10 year old female painted she is about 6 in long
its only illegal to sell turtles and tortoises under 4” at a retail store. you can keep them or sell them privately at expos at any size
Technically, but many stores are selling baby turtles under 4 inches LOL, they just have to ask if you are using them for “educational” purposes
i just found an injured baby painted turtle who dosnt have much interest in eating do you have any suggestions

will i need gravel/sand to grow water plants?please reply as i would love to try and get my painteds some plants. thanks
the plants i have in there, (water sprite and java moss) dont need gravel or sand they grow like crazy without it, VERY low maintenance plants

where can i get water sprite? i went to my local pet store(petsmart) n they sid they ddnt have any and they dont sell it. they also ddnt know what i was talkin bout lol
i dont think it is illegal to own turtles under 4 inches. for intance, what if you have two turtles and they mate, you get hatchlings… i am pretty sure thats not illegal. but yes, selling and buying them is. idk, have to check the books. lol.
