They actually didn’t screw up. The fifth turtle is their sister Venus, who Master Splinter had missed when he first discovered the four. She was in one of the cartoon series a while back. The TMNT creators disliked having her and eventually and wiped out any memory of her existence. Strange to see her here though. She committed suicide on Robot Chicken – She drowned while trying to flush herself down the toilet – LOL.

She was only in TMNT The Next Mutation, which is a live action show. There’s only 2 cartoons, the newest one which may still be going on, and the original series. There was also a live action show where they performed music too lol.

It isn’t that bizarre to see Venus De Milo in this story when you really think about it. One: she was a crucial part of the continuity of Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation, which Saban owned. Two: This episode originally aired on Fox Kids in February 1998. The Next Mutation wasn’t cancelled until the Summer of that very same year. A shame really, Casey Jones and April O’ Neil were scheduled to make appearances and Shredder would have returned. Then again, unfortunately Splinter would have died.

i have some of the original comics made by eastmen and laird as far as i know they were the original creators and i’ve neither seen or heard of any female ninja turtle ever…i want some one to show real undisputable proof they ever had a 5th turtle in any of their storylines…no one drew them as well as those 2 did.
